Where heavy lifting is required to complete your job, you will know that a sling can make this a much more simple task. There are many different types of lifting devices for heavy loads with webbingslings and round slings being two of the most popular types.

Webbing Slings

These are flat belt straps, usually woven together from 100% polyester, with eye loops at either end.  These slings can be manufactured in a variety of lengths and widths up to 10 tonne.  They are handily colour coded so you know the exact lifting strength of the equipment right away.   SUOLI also offer a wide range of hooks to support webbing slings if required.
The benefits and features of webbing slings
Webbing slings are flexible, lightweight and portable.  They have a wide bearing surface which helps protect the load when lifting.  The flexible nature of the design means that they can be easily wrapped around loads that are an irregular shape.  The lightweight, soft and stretchy characteristics of webbing slings help to minimise shock loading problems and provide minimal scratching or denting to the load as its being lifted and lowered.
The disadvantages of webbing slings
While webbing slings are very popular, they are not as strong as many other pieces of lifting gear available so are not always the best option when a particularly heavy load is involved.  They also don’t work as well in some conditions, such as where moisture may be present.

Round Slings

Round slings are similar to webbing slings in that they are usually manufactured from polyester.  However round slings are also covered by a woven tubular jacket.  Round slings are one endless loop of yarn.  All load bearing yarns in the round slings have a polyester sleeve, ensuring product durability and safety when lifting heavy loads.  Round slings are also colour coded in the same way as webbing slings to quickly identify the lifting strength of the equipment at a glance.   A wide range of hooks are available to fit to round slings if required.

The benefits and features of round slings

Much like webbing slings, round slings are portable and flexible however they offer a slightly better protection to the load when lifting and lowering.  The endless loops of the round slings provide a much better choke hold than webbing slings and the pressure point of the load can keep changing.  This is better than the fixed ends of webbing slings.

The cons of using round slings

Similar to webbing slings, round slings would not be the best choice in moist conditions.  Although they have a much lower stretch rate than web slings they are also not the strongest piece of lifting equipment available.
